Selous Game Reserve Rufiji River Camp

Rufiji River Camp, a tented camp situated in the north eastern part of the Selous Game Reserve, is located on a high bank overlooking the mighty Rufiji River and the plain beyond.

The camp has 20 safari tents all with a comfortable verandah facing a magnificent view. The safari tents are shaded by makuti roofs, have twin or double beds with mosquito nets, writing desks, shelves and are solar powered lighting. Each tent has a permanent structure connected at the back with a equipped private bathroom: flush toilet, bidet, hand-basin and shower.

Rufiji River Camp has a pleasant open-air restaurant with a bar and lounge area, again with fantastic river views. Their meals, a mix of international and more local cuisine, are served three times a day to fit in with the safari activities.

Besides walking safaris and four wheel drive vehicle safaris, a major attraction is the boat trip along the Rufiji River and the adjoining lakes where hippo, crocodile and 400 species of birds can be observed. Sport fishing facilities are available.
